Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 1, 2026

This privacy policy explains how FileLumo handles uploaded files and technical data when you use our free online PDF tools and document converters.

Privacy at FileLumo is mostly about files and a small amount of technical metadata. We do not run a social network, we do not sell dossiers about you, and we do not require an account to use the core tools. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long it lasts, and where to ask questions.

1. Overview

FileLumo provides online tools for file conversion and document processing. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information responsibly.

Different tools may process data in the browser or on our servers; each tool page states the path. When in doubt, assume the stricter interpretation: if you would not put it on a shared USB drive, do not upload it until you have read that note.

2. File Handling

Files uploaded for processing are used only to deliver the selected service. We do not use your files for advertising or profiling. Processed files are automatically removed after a limited retention period.

Downloads you save to your device stay under your control. Clear your browser cache on shared computers, and remember that “private mode” does not erase files you explicitly saved to disk.

3. Data We Collect

We may collect limited technical information such as browser type, device type, and basic usage logs for service reliability, abuse prevention, and performance monitoring.

We avoid collecting sensitive categories of personal data on purpose. If your PDF contains health or financial information, that content came from you; we process it only to return the output you asked for, not to build a profile.

4. Cookies and Analytics

We may use cookies or similar technologies to improve user experience, remember preferences, and understand product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

If we add optional analytics later, we will describe it here and keep it minimal. Today, prefer checking your browser’s cookie list if you are curious what a session stores locally for theme or UI preferences.

5. Third-Party Services

Some parts of the service may rely on trusted third-party providers such as hosting and infrastructure partners. These providers process data only as needed to operate the platform.

Those providers have their own terms; we choose vendors with strong security track records, but we cannot control every subprocessors’ incident response. Ask us if you need a current list for your vendor review.

6. Contact

For privacy-related questions, contact us at [email protected].

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain personal data we hold. We will verify reasonable requests and respond within the timeframes applicable law requires, subject to exceptions for security logs we must retain briefly to prevent abuse.
