FileLumo limits & usage

FileLumo is built to stay free: no signup wall, no watermark upsell, and honest limits published here. This page explains what to expect per tool, how Talk to PDF throttling works, and when practical device or network limits apply.

Global policies

  • 100% free — no subscription, no paid tier, and no watermark on downloads.
  • No fixed daily or monthly conversion cap across core tools (subject to fair-use and abuse protection).
  • No registration required for standard tools.
  • Server-side file copies are deleted after about 1 hour.
  • We do not sell your documents or use uploads to train public AI models.

Talk to PDF (AI) limits

The AI assistant is free but rate-limited so the service stays fast for everyone. In your browser, you can send about 10 messages per hour per device (rolling window). Uploads are capped at 100 MB per PDF or Word file. Server-side API calls also have short-term abuse protection. If you hit the cap, wait until the timer resets or try again later on a stable connection.

Per-tool limits

Batch counts reflect the FileLumo UI today. File-size rows describe documented or client-enforced caps; many tools have no fixed FileLumo megabyte limit, but very large files may still fail on slow networks or low-memory devices.

When jobs fail (practical limits)

Even without a paywall, very large PDFs, long scans, or dozens of images can exhaust browser memory or hit network timeouts. If a job fails, try Wi‑Fi instead of mobile data, close heavy tabs, compress scans first, or split a PDF before merging. The FAQ covers common error messages.
